Guests should allow extra time for entry. Metal detectors will be located at the main entrances to each venue. Before screening, guests will empty their pockets of cell phones, keys, and metal objects. Medical lanes will be available for guests who require alternate screening methods.
General Facilities - The university expects community members to mask indoors. The university strongly encourages masking for all individuals in high-density settings, such as classrooms and at special events.
Transportation - Riders on transit buses and shuttles must wear masks, in compliance with Department of Transportation mandates.
As it has from the beginning of the pandemic, OU is monitoring guidance issued by the CDC. Current CDC guidance advises all individuals, even those who are fully vaccinated, to wear a mask indoors in public if in an area of substantial (orange) or high (red) transmission, according to its COVID-19 Integrated County View of Data. Plans will continue to be adjusted, based on the status of the pandemic, and in accordance with CDC recommendations and state and local guidelines.

The clear bag policy will be in effect for graduation ceremonies. A detailed list of permitted items is available below.
All carried-in items will be searched by security personnel prior to entering the venues. Prohibited items must be returned to the owner's vehicle or discarded. Items left at the entrance will be discarded. Any unlawful items are subject to confiscation, and the person in possession of such items is subject to arrest. It is still illegal to carry any gun on OU campuses and clinics.
Admissible only for outdoor graduation ceremonies if relocated due to inclement weather:
Prohibited items must be returned to the owner’s car or discarded, and any unlawful items are subject to confiscation.
Security officers will search all bags before attendees will be permitted to enter. Those with prohibited items will be asked to return items to their car.
