National Symposium on Student Retention a Success!

We had an outstanding symposium in Albuquerque on October 9-11. Our main speakers were Dr. George Henderson, The University of Oklahoma; Dr. Peter Ewell, National Center for Higher Education Management Systems; Dr. Margaret Ford, Houston Community College-Northeast; and Mr. Tim Culver, Ms. Beth Richter and Dr. Elizabeth Herr, Noel Levitz, Inc. There were many outstanding presentations covering topics such as Meritorious Retention Programs, Looking Beyond the First Year Retention, Special Populations, and Best Practices.

Congratulations to John Nelson from the University of Ottawa! He was the winner of a free registration to next year’s symposium, scheduled for September 24-26, 2007 in Milwaukee.

2006 Best Practices Award Winner

The 11th annual CSRDE $1000 Best Practices Award was presented to The University of Central Florida for their paper titled “A Decade in Review: 1995-2005 Building Institutional Collaboration for Successful Student Retention”. Congratulations on a job well done!
