Sai Maryada

Sai Kiran Maryada is a Research Scientist at the Data Institute for Societal Challenges (DISC). His research focuses on developing advanced machine learning models and visual analytics systems that support high-stakes decision-making in healthcare and energy. He develops innovative deep learning algorithms, multi-stage image analysis workflows, and AI frameworks that optimize clinical diagnostics, streamline medical imaging, and enhance subsurface characterization. His work spans computer vision, predictive modeling, reflecting a broad commitment to creating real-world, human-centered impact across diverse domains.

Dr. Maryada earned his M.S. in Data Science and Analytics and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma, specializing in biomedical image analysis and geoscience analytics. His research has been supported by NSF and NIH initiatives and published in leading venues, including IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, SPIE Medical Imaging, and the Journal of Geoenergy Science and Engineering. A recipient of the 2022 OU College of Engineering Dissertation Excellence Award, his work focuses on developing translational tools that bridge the gap between theoretical AI and practical application.
