Vickie E. Lake is a professor in the department of Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum in Early Childhood Education and the associate dean for the Jeanine Rainbolt College of Education-Tulsa at the University of Oklahoma.

Dr. Lake has 20 years of teaching, research, and service in higher education. Her research expertise includes service-learning, an area in which she has published two books and numerous research and practitioner articles; math and science teacher education; helping preservice teachers work with Dual Language Learners appropriately, and other areas related to teacher education.

She’s published in many of the major journals such as Teacher Education Quarterly, Teaching and Teacher Education, Early Childhood Development and Care, and Journal of Research in Childhood Education. As doctoral program coordinator, Dr. Lake teaches graduate classes in qualitative research methods, critical pedagogy, curriculum theory, models of teaching, and cultural diversity. For the undergraduate program, she teaches/has taught early childhood mathematics methods, family engagement, and preschool teaching and learning.
