R.J Wilson holds a Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) in Counselor Ed. and Supervision from the University of Arkansas. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor (LPC-S, OK) with more than a decade of experience working with individuals with mental health-related issues. She has served higher education in various human services roles such as a case manager, DV/partner violence advocate, interdisciplinary threat-assessment team member, resident counselor, clinical coordinator/therapist and counselor-supervisor. Dr. Wilson is trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her clinical experience includes working alongside individuals experiencing phase-of-life and adjustment-related issues, challenges with identity, domestic violence (DV), anxiety, performance anxiety, and those with current or past trauma experiences. Aside from working with clients, she has a passion for developing quality mental health practitioners. She has provided clinical guidance to social-work and clinical mental health counselors-in-training at the undergraduate, graduate and Licensed Professional Counselor-Candidate stages of development. As a faculty member, she is a Lecturer and the Internship Coordinator of the Prof. Counseling (M. Ed) program in the Educational Psychology department at the University of Oklahoma.
