  • Influence and outcomes of public policy and choice options on public K-12 schools.

Robert Franklin serves as a part time Lecturer in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Oklahoma, and he supports the Leadership and Policy Center for Thriving Schools and Communities (THRIVE).  Dr. Franklin earned his Ed.D.  in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies  from the University of Oklahoma in 2020. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Educators' Hall of Fame in 2024. He is the co-founder of a non-profit camping and recreational program called "Make Promises Happen" which specializes in serving individuals with special needs, and he serves as a board member for the Gatesway Foundation, a program helping intellectual and developmentally disabled individuals thrive through safe housing, meaningful employment, and life skills training.
