Allison coordinates new employee onboarding, as well as current employee engagement, talent management, and leadership training. She also creates and facilitates learning and development opportunities for the EM team, including "Drop the Mic" public speaking workshop and G.R.A.S.P. student services training.
Allison has earned a BA in Advertising from the University of Oklahoma and a MHR (Master of Human Relations) from the University of Oklahoma.
Allison began her career in advertising sales for the Wall Street Journal, but transitioned into higher education as the Assistant Director of Student Media at the University of Oklahoma in 2002. In this position she led the student team of advertising account executives and ad designers. Since 2007, however, Allison has been part of the Enrollment Management team. She started as the Director of Communications for the Office of Admissions and Recruitment where she and her team were responsible for the communication efforts to prospective students and their families and now enjoys combining her passions of marketing/communications and learning/development in her current role.
My best advice for a high school junior or senior preparing to apply to college:
Relationships matter! The connections you make with professors, staff members, and especially your peers in college can last a lifetime. Reach out to your professors to get to know them and ask for help when you need it. Take advantage of the incredible resources and support OU offers and most importantly, utilize this special time to build relationships and learn from other perspectives.
