Danielle Dunn is the Director of Marketing & Communications for the Division of Enrollment Management at the University of Oklahoma. Danielle leads a team who are responsible for the communication efforts to prospective students and their families. This includes communicating important information about OU’s admission process, recruitment, scholarships, financial aid, and marketing materials for domestic and international prospective students, including both transfer and incoming freshmen. Danielle and her team also work directly with OU’s colleges to market the academic brand and OU’s mission to prospective students.

Danielle graduated summa cum laude with a degree in telecommunications and an emphasis in political science from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. She then earned her MBA from the University of Oklahoma.

Before coming to OU, Danielle did public relations work for The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital in Bethany, Oklahoma. She helped promote the construction of the Hospital’s newest four-story addition, and coordinated all the media requests both on a national and local level. On average, Danielle handled 25 earned media stories per month.

Previously, Danielle worked as a television reporter and anchor for KOKH-TV in Oklahoma City. As a reporter, Danielle covered many national stories, including the 2013 Moore Tornado and the 2015 Daniel Holtzclaw trial, and conducted over 10,000 live TV appearances. Before coming to OKC, Danielle worked for the NBC affiliate in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the ABC affiliate in Casper, Wyoming.

My best advice for a high school junior or senior preparing to apply to college:

Get to know your admissions counselor. They want to see you succeed and are there to help. Also, don’t forget to apply for outside scholarships. There are many companies and groups who are willing to give scholarships for qualified candidates. Take the time to do your research and apply for these opportunities. It could save you thousands of dollars in the end.
