Anna K. Treviño earned her BA in Psychology as well as her MA in English at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and earned her PhD from the University of Oklahoma. She has taught First-Year Seminar courses at Texas A&M-Kingsville and First-Year Composition courses at both Texas A&M-Kingsville and the University of Oklahoma. She also taught Expository Writing at the University of Oklahoma and worked at the OU Writing Center.

Her primary research interest lies at the intersection of the politics of education and identity, and focuses on the dynamic relationships between identity, the teaching of writing, and space. That also includes writing center work and the First-Year Experience. Anna's work is grounded in X(Ch)icana feminism and counter-storytelling.

She spends her free time with her two dogs, listening to music, and trying to self-teach herself how to play the viola.
