The OU School of Music has a distinguished faculty in piano performance and pedagogy who are committed to preparing the finest teachers, performers, and scholars. Home of one of the largest and most active piano pedagogy programs in the country, the Piano Area offers comprehensive degree programs in piano performance and pedagogy from the undergraduate through doctoral level.

The essence of the program is its extraordinary community, a group of students — undergraduate through doctoral — dedicated to performing, teaching, and research. Through course work and related experiences in OU's state-of-the-art facilities, piano students gain the comprehensive experiences necessary to thrive in a piano-focused career. 

2026 OU Piano Experience Day

The OU piano area invites high school pianists to join us for OU Piano Experience Day on on Saturday, October 24, 2026. This event is open to upper-intermediate through advanced high school pianists who have studied piano for at least four years.

The registration and payment deadline is October 10, 2025. We urge you to apply early to secure your place.
