The University of Oklahoma choral ensembles welcome students of all majors to a collaborative community dedicated to artistic excellence. Singers study and perform outstanding choral literature representing diverse styles and traditions, with performance opportunities on campus, across the United States, and abroad. As the flagship choral ensemble of the OU School of Music, University Chorale performs a wide range of repertoire for advanced singers, spanning diverse historical periods, cultures, and musical traditions. The ensemble has a distinguished history of performing in renowned concert halls, appearing at state and regional conferences, premiering new choral works, and touring throughout the United States and abroad. University Chorale regularly collaborates with the other choral ensembles and the Symphony Orchestra to present a major work from the choral-orchestral repertoire. As an ambassador for the university, the ensemble also participates in outreach and recruitment initiatives, connecting with prospective students and sharing the artistry of choral music with communities throughout Oklahoma and beyond.

The legendary OU Glee Club traces its origins to the earliest days of the University of Oklahoma. Indeed, some of the first football games in the late 1890s were played in conjunction with the presentations by the oratorical society and performances by the Glee Club in the territorial capital of Guthrie. In 1903, the first dean of the College of Fine Arts, Gustaf Holmberg brought the Glee Club into the School of Music, transitioning the group from a student-led club to a faculty-led academic ensemble. As such, the OU Glee Club boasts itself as the oldest musical ensemble at OU, and most likely, in the State of Oklahoma. The OU Glee Club is comprised of both undergraduate and graduate students representing a wide variety of majors, through competitive audition. The Glee Club regularly performs traditional collegiate glee club repertoire, contemporary male choral works, and OU spirit songs at various events on and off campus including football and basketball games. In 2023, the Glee Club released an album of OU spirit songs for the first time since 1988. Fight for OKU: The Legendary OU Men’s Glee Club, is available on all streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. The Glee Club has performed across the USA and in Austria and The Republic of Ireland.

The University of Oklahoma Vox Lyrica, formerly known as the Women’s Chorus, Women’s Glee Club and the Women’s Choral Club, is a select ensemble dedicated to the performance of compelling repertoire created with the beauty of women’s voices as the focal point, performing music from the Renaissance to the present. The ensemble is comprised of graduate and undergraduate music and non-music majors through competitive audition. Vox Lyrica continues to garner praise for their performances; they performed by invitation at the Oklahoma Music Educators Association annual conference in 2018 and 2024. Vox Lyrica has released two albums: Voces in Concordia and Septemundos, which are available on all streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. Vox Lyrica has performed across the USA and in Austria and The Republic of Ireland.
