The Resonance Series is a guest lecture/performance/residency series that brings music professionals from around the world to share their experiences and stories, provide the future generation with insight into the industry and career paths, perform with student and local musicians, give masterclasses, and more.

Since Fall 2020, over 70 guests have spoken or performed for the series in over 200 events including more than 35 GRAMMY® winners representing 140+ GRAMMY® wins and over 350 GRAMMY® nominations. Additionally, guests have included Oscar, Emmy, Tony, Pulitzer Prize, Golden Globe, Juno, and Latin GRAMMY® winners, multiple U.S. Ambassadors of Music, multiple Guggenheim Fellows, and the musical directors of the Super Bowl, American Idol, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, and Kesha. Guests have played in the bands of Michael Jackson, Prince, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS, Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Elton John, Ray Charles, Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Shakira, Stanley Clarke, Stevie Wonder, B. B. King, Ariana Grande, Sting, Chick Corea, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Snarky Puppy, and many more. Guests have been featured in major motion pictures, TED Mainstages, Oprah, The Voice, American Idol, Late Night Talk Shows including Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, David Letterman, and Seth Meyers, NPR's Tiny Desk, BBC Proms, and more.

The series has free and public events across campus and Norman, including the Pioneer Library System, Norman Public Schools, and local businesses.

With the exception of specific concerts, all events are free and all events are always open to the public. Join us for this unique opportunity to listen to, work with, and ask questions of the music industry's most successful experts.

Feb 11 - Starr Parodi

2022 and 2023 GRAMMY® Winning pianist, composer, and producer. Has written the scores to the movies or trailers of hundreds of Hollywood's most iconic films including James Bond, Harry Potter, Star Wars: Rogue One, Star Trek - Nemesis, Mission: Impossible, Braveheart, X-Men, is a Gold Record recording artist, has had her work featured on NPR and BBC.

4x GRAMMY®-winning and 2025 GRAMMY®-Nominated Producer, Mixer, and Engineer for Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Travis Scott, Christina Aguilera, Snoop Dogg, Kirk Franklin, Blake Shelton, Neil Patrick Harris, Lin Manuel Miranda, Sting, and many more. Additionally, he has written hundreds of pieces of commercial music for some of the largest companies in the world, including Apple, Samsung, and Ford. Tre serves on the Board of Directors for the Record Academy (Grammys) as a Governor.

Paul Shaffer - Partner and Musical Director for David Letterman's entire 33-year career spanning over 6000 shows, Saturday Night Live's first Musical Director and Pianist (Seasons 1-5), Band Leader of Blues Brothers with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, member of the Honeydrippers with Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, Musical Director for Paul McCartney, Musical Director for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since its inception in 1986, has recorded or performed with hundreds of legendary musicians including James Brown, Bob Dylan, B. B. King, Miles Davis, Willie Nelson, Chuck Berry, Ray Charles, Cher, Yoko Ono, Diana Ross, and Earl Scruggs.
