Dr. Ryu is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication in the School of Visual Arts at the University of Oklahoma. He earned his B.F.A. in Advertising from ArtCenter College of Design, his M.F.A. in Design/Visual Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his Ph.D. in Design from the University of Edinburgh. He has led commissioned and funded design consultations for private and public bodies, earning international recognition for his work. He has authored, peer-reviewed, and presented work through scholarly publications and venues. His research interests include the development of methods and approaches at the intersection of design authorship and socially "wicked" problems.
