Lucy Fusselman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and is a proud second-generation Mexican American. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Fullerton, and her Master of Arts in Nonprofit Leadership from Oklahoma City University in 2025.

Lucy began her career as a News Reporter and Anchor for Telemundo Oklahoma before joining Telemundo Dallas as a News Producer. In 2019, she returned to Oklahoma with her husband, Chris, to start a family and continue serving the community she loves.

Her passion for advocacy and public service led her to a role as a Community Outreach Specialist for Congresswoman Kendra Horn, representing Oklahoma’s 5th District. She later served as a Development Officer for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, helping to grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Building on her fundraising experience and journalism background, Lucy now serves as the Director of Development at Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

In addition to her professional work, Lucy was appointed by Governor Stitt to the Oklahoma Arts Council in 2022 and has been recognized as a Top 40 Hispanic Leader and a 20 Under 40 honoree for her leadership and commitment to community service.
