Nate Feken

Gaylord College Sports Director

Kimberly Hill

Education:

BA, University of Oklahoma

As a proud graduate of Gaylord College, Nate Feken is now more than happy to return as its sports director. Feken helps run Gaylord College's three TV sports programs: OU Nightly Sports, Sooner Sports Pad, and Gameday U. He also teaches an intro and an advanced sports reporting class.

Feken spent the previous ten years as a sports reporter and anchor at KFOR-TV in Oklahoma City. While at KFOR-TV, he covered the NBA playoffs, the Final Four, all but one of the New Year's Six bowl games, two consecutive Heisman Trophy winners, and spent countless hours covering Oklahoma high school athletics. Nate was fortunate to learn from the legendary sports director, Bob Barry Jr., at KFOR, who was also a Gaylord College grad. He enjoys passing on everything he learned from Barry to the current students.

After graduating from OU, Feken worked as a sports reporter and anchor at WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia, for six months.

As a Gaylord College student, Nate was very involved with OU Nightly Sports and OUr Sports Pad. He served as a host, anchor, reporter, producer, and crew member for both shows. Feken covered future number one picks and Sooner athletes Sam Bradford and Blake Griffin. Nate also covered the NCAA basketball tournament, the Big 12 football championship, the Fiesta Bowl, and more as an OU student.

Feken now enjoys working with current Gaylord College students and seeing them succeed on the same shows he once worked on. OU Nightly Sports, Sooner Sports Pad, and Gameday U have won several awards since his return to Gaylord College, and they plan on winning many more. Nate says that seeing OU students get jobs in the TV industry and beyond is the best part of his job.
