Dr. Angela M. Person [pronounced Pierce-uhn] is an academic affiliate. She previously served as Associate Dean for Research and External Engagement in Gibbs College, where she was also Associate Professor of Architecture and President’s Associates Second Century Presidential Professor. For nearly a decade, her work at Gibbs supported faculty research, creative activity, public programming, external partnerships, and interdisciplinary initiatives across the college and university, including projects connected to the American School of Architecture.
Her teaching, mentorship, and research leadership at OU were recognized through university and national awards, including the 2023 ACSA Course Development Prize in Architecture, Climate Change, and Society; the 2022 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Excellence Award; and the 2021 OU Environmental Concerns Committee Award for Environmental Stewardship. She also served as faculty advisor to Telesis, the Gibbs College student journal recognized three times with the Center for Architecture’s Douglas Haskell Award for Student Journals.
