Allergy Injections

OU Health Services administers allergy injections to students who are currently under the care of a board-certified allergist.

Costs may vary depending on the number of injections per visit and how often the injections are administered. Patients are required to have written orders from their allergist that include:

  • Date of order (must be current - less than 1 year old)
  • Dosage and dosage schedule
  • Physician's signature
  • Procedure if injections are missed
  • Procedure if reaction occurs

Allergy shots are administered by appointment Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Before beginning injections you must be a student and an established patient of our clinic.  

Patients are required to wait 30 minutes after receiving allergy injections. The wait reduces the possibility of a reaction occurring outside the center where medical help may not be readily available. Patients must also bring an epinephrine auto-injector (EpiPen) for each appointment.

Allergy extract may be stored in temperature-regulated refrigerators at OU Health Services. Extract may be mailed or delivered directly to:
