Education

Dr. Hamerla is a Reach for Excellence Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma. He has worked on topics dealing with the history of American chemistry and physics in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and scientific apparatus. His books include Two Centuries of Progress; A Bicentennial History of the Chemical Industry in Cleveland, 1796-1996, (1996), and An American Scientist on the Research Frontier, Edward Morley, Community, and Radical Ideas in Nineteenth-Century Science (2006). He also has publications on the history and use of biological weapons.
