UROP

(UROP) Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program

With the generous support of the Office of the Vice President of Research, the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program offers financial assistance for scholarly and creative projects under the mentorship of a faculty member. UROP supports the core research mission of the university and is open to all undergraduates at OU.

Dozens of research projects are funded each year so that undergraduates may undertake ambitious and exciting research endeavors. This competitive program is open to all University of Oklahoma main campus and Health Science Center undergraduate students who apply for research grants of up to $1,000 each semester. Students from across the University discover the benefits of these hands-on research opportunities in laboratories, studios, libraries, and field sites.

At the conclusion of their work, UROP recipients present the results of their research or accounts of their work-in-progress at the Honors College's Undergraduate Research Day, a conference showcasing undergraduate research and creative activity held in April of each year.

UROP funding is awarded as a scholarship. Students may apply for UROP either individually or as a pair. If applying as a pair, any amount awarded will be divided equally between the two applicants. Students will be able to choose whether to have the scholarship paid directly to them, or directly to the sponsoring department for the purchase of materials.

Apply

In addition to the application form, to apply students will need to submit
