We are excited to welcome students to their University home!

We've partnered with University and Student Services to provide a full-service Move-In experience for all students living with us in the Residence Halls. 

  • Students will be assigned a date and time to arrive at Lloyd Noble Center to check-in based on their room assignment.
  • University and Student Services will unload your vehicle and move your items into your room.
  • All residents are limited to two cars and one trip through the full-service Move-In process.
  • The health and safety of our students is our top priority. OU is taking proactive measures to create an on-campus living experience that is supportive and welcoming.

Continue to check your OU email account frequently for Housing and Move-In information.
 
 

Important Reminders

Residents of Couch and Walker Towers, David L. Boren Hall, the Residential Colleges and Cross Village will move in August 9-11. Specific Move-In day and time assignments will been sent to students' OU email accounts.

Students must arrive on their assigned date and during their assigned arrival window. If they cannot arrive at their assigned date and time, they should contact OU Housing to schedule a Move-In appointment time.

 

Move-In Process and Guidelines

  • On their assigned Move-In day, they must arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center at their assigned Move-In time.
  • After they arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center, enter the building at the east side entrance.
  • Once inside, they will be directed to the appropriate stations to complete the necessary steps for check-in.
     

Move-In Service: OU has partnered with University and Student Services to provide a full-service move-in for students living in the Residence Halls, the Residential Colleges and Cross Village. After they check-in at the Lloyd Noble Center, volunteers will guide them north to the residential area of campus. Once they arrive at their assigned building, University and Student Services will unload their vehicle and move all of their items into their room for them.

  • This service will only be available to them on their specific Move-In day and time.
  • Students who do not check in on their assigned Move-In day forfeit the move-in service. This includes students who schedule appointments outside of the assigned Move-In days.
  • All incoming residents are limited to two cars and one trip through the full-service Move-In process.

Headington Hall residents should refer to communication from Headington Hall that has been emailed to their OU email accounts for specific Move-In details. For questions related to Headington Hall, call (405) 325-8403 or email headingtonhall@ou.edu.

Residents of Traditions Square will begin Move-In Wednesday, August 17, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily until the first day of classes. Residents will receive an email to their OU email account with instructions on how to schedule a Move-In appointment.

Before you arrive for Move-In, you will need to have your campus ID, your Sooner Card. Sooner Cards are now completely digital, and we have made the entire process convenient for you to complete online.
 

You must submit an ID photo online at one.ou.edu no later than July 31. Once you have logged in using your OU NetID and password:

  • Click your profile bubble on the top right and select account settings
  • Click your profile bubble with the camera icon
  • Upload your photo*
     

After your photo has been approved, you are ready to add your Sooner Card to your mobile device. Visit the Sooner Card website for directions for both Apple and Android devices.

*Photo guidelines

  • Photo must be in color – driver license, passport or visa-style photos are best. Do not attach a photo of your driver license or state ID.
  • Face must be clearly visible and facing forward – no profile shots, sunglasses or hats
  • Photo cannot be blurred or contain ghosting
  • Photo cannot be modified in any way and must be original image
  • Nothing can be touching your face
  • You must be the only person in the photo
  • Photo must meet a minimum resolution of 600x600 pixels

Parking is available at Lloyd Noble Center if needed. Shuttles will run from Lloyd Noble Center to the Residence Halls each day of Move-In from 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Frequently Asked Questions

For the best experience and to minimize your wait time as much as possible, arrive at Lloyd Noble Center at your assigned time slot. Housing and Residence Life and USS are only staffed to accommodate the number of students allocated to each Move-In time. This time slot will be emailed to your OU email address. You can also log into the housing portal at link.ou.edu/myhousingandfood to see your arrival window starting mid-July.

Parking is provided in the southeast section of the Lloyd Noble Center parking lot.

  • If arriving from Highway 9, there are two entries into the parking lot.
    • Proceed north on Jenkins and turn left onto G.T. Blankenship which is the first street on your left. There will be a sign and attendant at that point to provide directions. 
    • Proceed north on Jenkins and turn left into the first entrance into the Lloyd Noble Center parking lot. There will be a sign and attendant at that point to provide directions. 
  • If arriving on Jenkins from the north, proceed past Imhoff Rd. and turn right into the second entrance into Lloyd Noble Center. The first entrance is designated for shuttle parking only. There will be a sign and attendant at that point to provide directions.

  • Please note that both drives to the southeast section of the Lloyd Noble Center parking lot are entrance-only drives and the exit lanes will be closed. All vehicles will be required to exit this section of the lot to the north. Attendants will be on-site to direct vehicles north to Imhoff Rd. where they will turn left to Asp Ave. OUPD personnel will be on-site at Asp Ave. to provide further guidance.

  • On your assigned Move-In day, you must arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center at your assigned Move-In time.
  • After you arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center, enter the building at the east side entrance.
  • Once inside, you will be directed to the appropriate stations to complete the necessary steps for check-in.
  • Once you have received your hangtag at check-in, you will return to your car and will be directed to drive to your center along the traffic-controlled path.

Your digital ID can also be used in place of the plastic Sooner Card. If you prefer to have a physical card along with your Sooner Card in Apple Wallet or Google Play, you can visit the Sooner Card office to have one printed for $30.00.

Yes. Please use the facilities at Lloyd Noble Center prior to checking in. It is possible that you will wait in a long line, and facilities are not available between Lloyd Noble Center and the Residence Halls.

Each student is only allowed to go through the provided USS unloading process once. If you have additional items at a retail store or in a storage locker, you should pick these things up prior to arriving to Lloyd Noble Center for check-in. 

Yes. It is very important that all cars in your caravan stay together throughout the move-in process, including the check-in lines at Lloyd Noble Center. Please do not have your second car wait at a separate location or try to meet you at the Residence Halls if it is carrying any of your Move-In items. 

No. Cars that do not contain items to be unloaded can be parked at the shuttle parking lot on the northeast side of Lloyd Noble Center. Shuttles will run from Lloyd Noble Center to the Residence Halls each day of Move-In from 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

It is likely that you will experience a wait during the Move-In process. It is important to arrive at Lloyd Noble Center with water for the people in your vehicle and a full tank of gas. Restrooms are available at Lloyd Noble Center. Please let the greeter know that you would like to use the facilities, and they will direct you to the appropriate parking area. 

Upon leaving the USS loading zone, all cars should proceed back to Lloyd Noble Center. You can enter shuttle parking on the northeast side of Lloyd Noble Center off of Jenkins Ave. Please park in the northeast corner of the lot and ride the shuttle back to the Residence Halls. Shuttles will run from Lloyd Noble Center to the Residence Halls each day of Move-In from 8:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
