Panhellenic and The Pride of Oklahoma

Early move-in at the University of Oklahoma is available for students required to participate in designated pre-semester activities, such as sorority recruitment, the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, or other approved groups. A $200 early move-in fee will be billed to each student’s bursar account. This fee is separate from regular fall semester housing and meal charges.

Each academic year we are excited to welcome students to their University home!  

We've partnered with University and Student Services to provide a full-service Move-In experience for all students living with us in the Residence Halls.*

  • Students will be assigned a date and time to check-in based on their room assignment. More information will be sent to their OU email account in July!**
  • University and Student Services will unload your vehicle and move your items into your room.
  • Incoming first-year students assigned to Traditions Square will receive only unloading assistance from University Student Services. 
  • All residents are limited to two passenger vehicles and one trip through the full-service Move-In process. No U-Hauls, trailers or moving trucks/vans are allowed. 
  • The health and safety of our students is our top priority. OU is taking proactive measures to create an on-campus living experience that is supportive and welcoming. 

Continue to check your OU email account frequently for Housing and Move-In information.

*Headington Hall residents should refer to communication from Headington Hall that has been emailed to their OU email accounts for specific Move-In details. 

**To ensure a successful Move-In day you must arrive on your assigned date and time. We are not able to reschedule Move-In times. 

MicroFridge Rental, Laundry Service & Home-to-Room Service

We've partnered with University and Student Services to provide you with an option to rent a MicroFridge, sign up for their Laundry Service or ship your items to them prior to Move-In!

Important Reminders


 

Residents of Couch Center, David L. Boren Hall, the Residential Colleges, Cross Village, McCasland Hall and South Hall will move in August 17-18. Specific Move-In day and time assignments will be sent to students' OU email accounts. 

Students must arrive on their assigned date and during their assigned arrival window. 

 

Move-In Process and Guidelines

  • On their assigned Move-In day, they must arrive at Lloyd Noble Center at their assigned Move-In time. 
  • After they arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center, they will need to enter the building at the west entrance for check-in. 
  • The clear bag policy is in effect for all guests. Metal detectors will be located at the west entrance when you arrive. View the full list of prohibited items and security protocols. 
  • Once inside, they will be directed to the appropriate stations to complete the necessary steps for check-in. 

Move-In Service: OU has partnered with University and Student Services to provide a full-service move-in for students living in  Couch Center, David L. Boren Hall, the Residential Colleges, Cross Village, McCasland Hall and South Hall. After they check-in at the Lloyd Noble Center, volunteers will guide them north to the residential area of campus. Once they arrive at their assigned building, University Student Services will unload their vehicle and move all of their items into their room for them. 

  • This service will only be available to them on their specific Move-In day and time. 
  • Students who do not check in on their assigned Move-In day forfeit the move-in service. This includes student who schedule appointments outside of assigned Move-In days. 
  • All incoming residents are limited to two passenger vehicles and one trip through the full-service Move-In process. No U-Hauls, trailers or moving trucks/vans are allowed. 

If a student has opted out of Camp Crimson, they are encouraged to move in after August 18 to move in themselves.

Headington Hall residents should refer to communication from Headington Hall that has been emailed to their OU email accounts for specific Move-In details. For questions related to Headington Hall, call (405) 325-8403 or email headingtonhall@ou.edu.

After they check-in at the Lloyd Noble Center, volunteers will guide them north to the residential area of campus. Once they arrive to the unloading area, University Student Services will unload their vehicle and put their items in a designated area for them to retrieve and move in themselves. 

  • The unloading assistance will only be available to them on their specific Move-In day and time. 
  • Students who do not check in on their assigned Move-In day forfeit the unloading assistance. This includes student who schedule appointments outside of assigned Move-In days. 
  • All incoming residents are limited to two passenger vehicles and one trip through the Move-In process. No U-Hauls, trailers or moving trucks/vans are allowed.

Upperclass residents of Traditions Square will begin Move-In Saturday, August 1. Residents are required to check in at the clubhouse for Move-In. Residents will receive an email to their OU email account with instructions on how to schedule a Move-In appointment. 

Before you arrive for Move-In, you will need to have your campus ID, your Sooner Card. Sooner Cards are now completely digital, and we have made the entire process convenient for you to complete online. If you need a physical card printed, you can visit one of the Sooner Card Offices

You must upload and submit an ID photo using the eAccounts app through your smart device no later than July 1. Learn how to upload your photo in the eAccounts app. After your photo has been approved, you are ready to add your Sooner Card to your mobile device. Visit the Sooner Card website for directions for both Apple and Android devices.

Photo Guidelines

  • Photo must be in color - drivers license, passport, or visa style photos are best (do not attach a direct copy of your photo ID)
  • Face must be clearly visible and facing forward - no profile shots, sunglasses, or hats
  • Photo cannot be blurred or contain ghosting
  • Photo cannot be modified in any way and must be original image - no photo filters
  • Nothing can be touching your face such as hands or anything else
  • Photo should only include your face and shoulders
  • You must be the only person in the photo
  • A uniform (preferably white) light-colored background is preferred
  • Photo file format should be JPG. We do not accept .heic
  • Photo must meet a minimum resolution of 600 x 600 pixels

For the best experience and to minimize your wait time as much as possible, arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center at your assigned time slot. Housing and Residence Life and USS are only staffed to accommodate the number of students allocated to each Move-In time. This time slot will be emailed to your OU email address. You can also log into the housing portal at link.ou.edu/myhousingandfood to see your arrival window starting mid-July.

While coming early to beat the rush may seem like a great idea, it will result in longer wait times for you and everyone else. You must arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center during your Move-In time to received the move-in service. 

  • On your assigned Move-In day, you must arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center at your assigned Move-In time. 
  • After you arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center, park your car and enter the building at the west entrance to check-in. 
  • Once inside, you will be directed to the appropriate stations to complete the necessary steps for check-in. 
  • Once you have received your traffic tag at check-in, you will return to your car and will be directed to drive to your center along the traffic-controlled path. 

Yes. You may use the facilities at the Lloyd Noble Center after you check-in. It is possible that you will wait in a long line, and facilities are not available between the Lloyd Noble Center and the Residence Halls.

Each student is only allowed to go through the provided USS unloading process once. If you have additional items at a retail store or in a storage locker, you should pick these things up prior to arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center for check-in. 

You will receive a traffic tag for up to two vehicles. Traffic tags should be placed under your windshield wiper so they are clearly visible to the officers who will direct you to your drop off location. You are allowed to take up to two vehicles to your designated drop off location once. No cargo vans, box trucks, or trailers will be permitted. Both vehicles must be together before they exit the check-in parking lot at the Lloyd Noble Center. 

No. Cars that do not contain items to be unloaded can be parked at the shuttle parking lot on the northeast side of the Lloyd Noble Center. Shuttles will run from the Lloyd Noble Center to the Residence Halls each day of Move-In. 

It is possible that you will experience a wait during the Move-In process. It is important to arrive at the Lloyd Noble Center with water for the people in your vehicle and a full tank of gas. Restrooms are available at the Lloyd Noble Center. 

Student meal plans will be active August 17. Students participating in early arrival programs may have meals provided through their program.

OU Housing and Residence Life is happy to partner with University and Student Services (USS) for MicroFridge Rental, Laundry service, and Home-to-Room service.

 

MicroFridge Rental

Rent an Energy Star 3-in-1 appliance from USS. Unit includes a spacious refrigerator, zero-degree freezer, and powerful microwave. Rent for the academic year, USS will deliver and pick-up at the end of the year.

Don’t waste time doing laundry, let USS do it for you! Just fill the provided bag and drop off at the designated location. USS will wash, dry, and fold; for you to pick up just 2 days later. This introductory service is per semester.
