Graduate Student Research Scholarship

Graduate Student Research Scholarship

The Institute for Community and Society Transformation (ICAST) is pleased to announce a new Graduate Student Internal Funding Opportunity. We anticipate making four awards of $1,000 each to assist students with research or travel costs related to their thesis or dissertation project. Research projects must relate in some way to ICAST’s strategic areas of focus and graduate students must be ICAST affiliates from an OU Norman campus program. Applications will be reviewed based on the criteria below. Recipients are encouraged to seek additional external funding support for their research. Recipients of this funding opportunity will be asked to serve as a reviewer for subsequent graduate student award applications.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Overall quality of the research
  • Potential societal impact
  • How the research addresses the gap in existing research
How to Apply for ICAST Funding Opportunity
  • Provide a 1-page summary of your proposed research project and how it relates to one or more of ICAST’s strategic areas of focus
  • Include a statement of why the funding is critical to the research
  • Include a brief description of what the funds will be used for
  • Provide a brief statement of support from your advisor/major professor who is supervising your project (a brief email is fine)
