Register today for the Oklahoma Archaeology Conference!
The fifth biennial Oklahoma Archaeology Conference (OAC) will take place at the Thurman J. White Forum Building on the University of Oklahoma campus, March 5th - March 7th, 2026.
As in the past, OAC will feature oral presentations and a dedicated poster session during which authors will staff their posters. Posters will remain publicly accessible for the duration of the conference. Undergraduate and graduate students may compete for prizes for best paper and poster.
The 2026 conference will also include workshops and vendors, and for the first time, a Cultural Resources Management (CRM) fair for students to meet the professional firms that are conducting work within the State of Oklahoma.
The OAC conference organizers are pleased to introduce Jennifer Byram, PhD candidate in archaeology at the University of Arizona, as the instructor for the 2026 conference workshop. Jennifer specializes in the study of Indigenous textiles of the Southeastern United States. Her workshop will introduce attendees to Indigenous textile manufacture, combining scholarly context with hands-on learning. Following an introductory weaving lesson, participants will utilize experimental archaeology to create their very own make-and-take activity. The workshop will be offered on Friday and Saturday. Workshop registration is $15 and can be found here.
Conference registration is now available. Register here.
