OU IT Presents at Annual CoIT Summit

Edmond, Okla. - In May 2023 OU IT joined the yearly Council on Information Technology(CoIT) Summit.

CoIT “considers technology and related issues affecting Oklahoma high education, proposes technology and related policy and procedures and serves as the principal statewide advisory council rendering advice and counsel to the chancellor, other advisory groups and the entire state system in the review of current recommended technology and related policy and procedures.”

The yearly Summit provides an opportunity to talk to vendors, network with fellow high education IT groups, and hear from colleagues on specific topics.

The 2023 Summit featured the following six talks led by OU IT staff:

• Many Sources of Marketing Data - One Power BI to Rule Them All - Joseph Cole & Melissa Nestor

• Striving for Perfection - Maximize your Customer Satisfaction while Driving Change - JEB Sherrif & Robert Kelly

• Being a culture of Compliance: Why People Break the Rules, and How to Get Them to Stop - Kevin Fitzgerald

• The Art of Storytelling for Strategic Success - George Thomas

• Using IT Cybersecurity Tools in the Classroom to Improve Student Success - Randy Moore and Danielle Caswell

• The OU IT Governance Framework: A Model for Fostering the Alignment, Transparency and Efficiency of Technology Services - Mark Ferguson

In addition to these well-attended discussions, OU IT had the opportunity to hear from other universities, network with colleagues, and hear from a Keynote speaker.
