NORMAN, OK - [April 15, 2024] - The University of Oklahoma is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Kobza as the interim Chief Information Officer (CIO). With over 20 years of experience at OU, Kobza brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and a strong commitment to supporting the university's faculty, staff, and students.

Kobza most recently served as the director of IT mission support and is excited to fill this interim role by increasing awareness and communication of IT efforts across the university.

The university has also initiated a search for a full-time CIO to lead OU's technology strategy. The search committee will conduct a comprehensive process to identify the best candidate for this critical role.

OU also extends its gratitude to former CIO David Horton for his 23+ years of service to OU IT, including the last 5 years as CIO. Horton's contributions have been instrumental in shaping the university's technology strategy and infrastructure.
