For many students, the path to a degree isn’t linear—and for Jenae Thompson, that journey came full circle in the most meaningful way. Jenae first attended the University of Oklahoma in the late 2000s as a sociology major. But as a young mother balancing full-time work, school, and a newborn, the demands became overwhelming. Like many adult learners, Jenae stepped away to focus on her growing responsibilities. Over time, she built a career, launched businesses, and gained valuable professional experience. Still, one challenge remained: finishing her degree.

More Than 12,000 Students Named to OU’s Spring 2026 Honor Roll

The University of Oklahoma announced today the students named to its spring 2026 honor roll, a distinction given to those who achieve the highest academic standards. A total of 12,083 students were named to the spring 2026 honor roll. Of these students, 5,004 were named to the President’s Honor Roll for earning an “A” grade in all their courses.

Sixteen OU Students Named Outstanding Senior Award Recipients

Sixteen seniors from the University of Oklahoma have been selected as Outstanding Seniors for their exceptional achievements in scholarship, honors, awards, leadership and service. Of these 16 students, Jhanvi Patel from Oklahoma City was chosen by a committee of OU faculty, staff and students as the overall Outstanding Senior.
