Dr. Rita M. Murray is a national speaker, executive coach and educational psychologist for Performance Consulting LLC, and has broad experience in the energy/oil and gas industry, including consulting and executive leadership programs. Dr. Murray’s client portfolio includes Accenture, Chesapeake Energy, Devon Energy, Linn Energy, and Pioneer Natural Resources. Since 2014, Dr. Murray has served as the executive career coach for the University of Oklahoma’s Executive MBA in Energy (EMBA).
Dr. Murray is also a keynote speaker and a consultant for government and military organizations and multiple blue chip corporations, including Accenture, BNY Mellon, Fidelity Investments, Lockheed Martin, and NASA. Her areas of experience fall into a wide range of categories including leadership development, interpersonal communications, generational issues, and change management.
Before serving as a senior consultant, Dr. Murray was CEO and chairman of a national energy services company and board member of several energy companies. She was also founder and chairman for a Hollywood film production company and held leadership roles at General Electric (GE) and Lockheed in Washington, D.C., where her top-secret clearances provided unique insights into security and international talent management solutions. She was inspired to build her coaching career in leadership consulting by Jack Welch during her tenure at GE while engaged in professional and leadership development in Crotonville, New York.
As a private pilot, Dr. Murray's research has focused on the development of higher order thinking skills of the millennial and Gen Z generations and the application of crew resource management (CRM) to improve decision-making. She has successfully delivered CRM frameworks for leaders in multiple industries ̶ oil and gas, safety, health care, security, engineering and IT. She is also the author of several workbooks on personality type, generational theory, managerial conflict resolution and emotional intelligence (EQ).
A transplanted Oklahoman, Dr. Murray grew up in Boston and is a first-generation American and dual citizen of Ireland. She completed an undergraduate degree in business administration at the University of Massachusetts. Her master’s and doctoral degrees in instructional psychology and technology from the University of Oklahoma complement her diverse background and strong leadership experience. She brings unique passion, high energy, and uncommon commitment to support the objectives of all her clientele.
