June 12 - July 11, 2026
The Pathways to Price Summer Headstart Program is a five-week summer bridge experience designed to help incoming Price College students begin their OU journey with confidence. The program supports students’ academic, personal, and professional success through early coursework, structured programming, community building, and hands-on engagement with select Price College faculty.
Students will arrive on Friday, June 12, before June Block courses begin on June 15. Participants will live in Headington College and complete four hours of college credit through closed course sections: ACCT 2113 Financial Accounting and B AD 1001 Personal Computing Productivity Tools.
Introduces students to the fundamentals of financial accounting, including how business transactions are recorded, summarized, and communicated through financial statements. Students begin developing an understanding of how accounting information is used to evaluate business performance and support decision-making.
Introduces students to productivity tools such as spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
Students who successfully complete Pathways to Price are positioned to take ACCT 2123 Managerial Accounting in the fall semester of their freshman year. This creates the opportunity for students to take ACCT 3113 Intermediate Accounting as early as the spring semester of their freshman year, giving them a meaningful academic advantage.
The program is especially beneficial for students interested in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, and Energy Management because of the early exposure to Financial Accounting. The small class environment and faculty selected to work closely with students create a strong foundation for success and help motivated students perform well as they transition into Price College.
In addition to coursework, students will participate in orientation, community-building activities, and service opportunities designed to help them build relationships, develop confidence, and prepare to “hit the ground running” in the fall semester.
As students continue through Price College, many Pathways participants build on this early momentum through additional internships, leadership experiences, and study abroad opportunities.
Room and board are covered by the program. Tuition and books/materials are the student's responsibility unless the student meets the program's scholarship and financial aid criteria.
"Pathways to Price was an amazing program and honestly the sole reason why I am at OU and where I am today. It really prepares you for the style and rigor of studying that will really help you succeed at Price. Pathways will also open so many opportunities and resources purely through connection and exposure that you may not have if you aren’t easily as comfortable with networking prior to college."
- Jasmine Tran, 2024 Pathways to Price
Pathways to Price students have also secured significant internship opportunities as early as the summer after their freshman year, including experiences with organizations such as EY, Deloitte, Diamondback Energy, and Love's.
Pathways to Price is led by Sherad Cravens, Executive Director of the Center for Student Success and Well-Being in the Michael F. Price College of Business. Students and families are encouraged to reach out with questions about the summer experience, course credit, housing, and program expectations.
