Course Catalog & Degree Checksheets

The Course Catalog includes all courses approved for offering by the University of Oklahoma. The OU General Catalog describes degree programs available on the Norman campus. Many academic units make changes in their degree requirements and courses between publications of the catalog, so check with the academic unit or college office for the most current program information.

Class Attendance Policy

The student is responsible for class attendance after completion of registration. The student must cancel before the first day of classes to avoid being charged fees and tuition. Students who do not attend classes beginning the first day may be canceled from a course if there is high demand for seats from students who are waiting to enroll in courses. HOWEVER, STUDENTS SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT NON-ATTENDANCE AND/OR NON-PAYMENT OF FEES WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY RESULT IN THE CANCELLATION OF ENROLLMENT. THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DROPPING COURSES BY THE APPROPRIATE DEADLINES IN ORDER TO AVOID TUITION CHARGES.

Understanding Your Schedule

We encourage you to review your schedule before the beginning of classes each semester. Many departments and colleges have been enforcing course prerequisites and enrollment qualifications, so double-check your course listings. In addition, some classes may have changed room assignments since your original enrollment.

General Education Course

There is a 40 hour requirement to complete the general education program. Not all courses are offered every semester. View General Education course requirements and course list.
