New Radar Strategic Partner Consortium Announced at OU

NORMAN, OKLA. – A new consortium established at the Advanced Radar Research Center at the University of Oklahoma will provide enhanced opportunities for partnering organizations to benefit from student training and emerging research conducted at the research center. The Advanced Radar Research Center at the Radar Innovations Lab on the OU Norman campus is the largest academic program in the nation specializing in radar systems, algorithms and applied electromagnetics.

“The Strategic Partner Consortium, or SPARC, will help us substantially increase the number of students educated by the ARRC and ensure resources to maintain and upgrade state-of-the-art facilities and equipment,” said Bob Palmer, executive director of the Advanced Radar Research Center.

Nathan Goodman, ARRC director of research, said the consortium provides an opportunity for “industry and government entities to partner with the ARRC in ways that are mutually supportive of the ARRC’s mission and partners’ goals.”

“ARRC partners will enjoy active communication with ARRC leadership and faculty regarding research and educational needs, updates on research through early access to publications and participation in ARRC workshops, access to a centralized repository of ARRC publications and theses and dissertations, and direct engagement with ARRC students,” he added.

SPARC members will also have opportunities to participate in the ARRC’s annual Industry and Government Days workshop and have unique access to student talent essential to workforce development, among other benefits. About the Advanced Radar Research Center

The ARRC is an innovation leader in radar systems, algorithms and RF components. Also the largest academic radar program in the nation, the center is composed of more than 120 members, including faculty, technical and administrative staff, students, post-docs, and affiliated scholars. Through its unique combination of academic foundations, first-class facilities and full-time engineering staff, the ARRC supports a wide range of technology readiness levels from fundamental research to fielded system prototypes.
