SRNML Core Facility Voucher Program

As a shared-use core facility, our goals are to enable creation of publishable new knowledge and to assist members of our research community to be successful in external grant applications. As such, we provide this internal competitive opportunity for investigators to use microscopy core facilities to obtain preliminary results for a manuscript or grant proposal submission.

Available to OU-Norman faculty, postdoctoral or staff researchers, or graduate students (with advisor permission). Awarded funds, from $500-2000, will be held by the OVPRP and used to defray any accumulated SRNML recharge fees up to the awarded amount during the award period. Estimated project costs can be determined through our posted rates and consultations with SRNML personnel regarding expected instrument usage time.  Each PI / research group may only be awarded one voucher per year.

• 1-page project description that addresses the review criteria below
• Budget description not to exceed $2000 itemized to reflect SRNML charge structures
• 1-3 page CV/biosketch for investigator
• For graduate students/ postdoctoral researchers: letter of endorsement from advisor/sponsor

Proposals from each deadline will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers with relevant expertise.

• Research plan
• Demonstration of how this data will contribute to a specific proposal submission for external funding or preparation/submission/revision of a manuscript
• Demonstrated need for SRNML resources
• Priority consideration will be given to junior faculty research groups and new SRNML users.
