Office of Risk Management

An OU flag on campus with greenery and building in the background.

The Office of Risk Management works closely with Campus Police, Campus Safety, Legal Counsel, Environmental Health and Safety offices, and others. The Office of Enterprise Risk Management helps protect the University of Oklahoma’s people, property, and resources through proactive risk management programs and services.

Our role is to identify, assess, and reduce risks that could impact the university’s operations, safety, and reputation—ensuring our work aligns with public interest, legal requirements, environmental considerations, and campus priorities.

We support the Norman campus by developing and managing policies, procedures, and programs related to:

  • Loss prevention

  • Property and casualty protection

  • Campus accidents and injury reporting

  • Claims processing and reporting requirements

We work in close partnership with key university offices, including Campus Police, Campus Safety, Legal Counsel, and Environmental Health and Safety. Our team also operates in alignment with the State of Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) Risk Management Division policies and regulations.

OU’s Office of Enterprise Risk Management is a proud member of URMIA (University Risk Management and Insurance Association).

OU Report IT

At OU, fostering an environment of integrity, respect, and the highest ethical standards is a top priority. Each member of the OU community shares the responsibility of ensuring these values are firmly upheld and concerns are promptly addressed.  The reporting hotline – OU Report It! – provides a simple and anonymous way for employees, students, and community members to report concerns related, but not limited, to: Human Resources, Academics, Safety, Student Affairs, Accounting and Financial, Regulatory/Policy Compliance, Institutional Equity, Athletics and Research.  The hotline is hosted by Navex Global, an independent third party, to provide an avenue to confidentially report suspected wrongdoing or unethical behavior without the fear of retaliation.  Violations or concerns may be submitted 24 hours a day through the following methods:

  • Phone: (844) 428-6531
  • Online:  The OU Report It! website has been redesigned to make it easier to submit concerns.
    • OU Norman Campus:  ou.ethicspoint.com
    • OU-Tulsa:  outulsa.ethicspoint.com
    • Mobile: The OU Report It! hotline’s new mobile intake feature makes the reporting process even easier and faster. Access the mobile intake by scanning the QR code.

Quick Reporting Aid

Need to notify Enterprise Risk Management about an incident? Use our Quick Reporting Email Links to get started.

Please note:
Quick reporting does not replace official reporting procedures. It simply ensures that our team is aware of the situation and can provide further guidance as needed.

Links open a pre-filled email directed to the appropriate contact with a subject line related to your report. This helps ensure your message reaches the right person quickly—especially if the incident occurs after hours or on weekends. Once your message is received, our team will follow up during business hours with next steps or required forms.

Important: Call 911 First for Emergencies, Then Report to Our Office
