The Student Experience in the Research University (SERU) survey is a comprehensive survey administered to all degree-seeking graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Oklahoma – Norman Campus and OU Online students. The survey data is used to provide OU administrators, faculty, and staff with unique insights into the student experience here at OU.
Tell us about your experience at OU and help create a better campus for all students.
The anonymous survey takes about 30 minutes to complete and will be available until June 16th.
At the University of Oklahoma, the student experience is essential to everything we do. Our obligation to prepare students for a life of success, meaning, service, and positive impact is one we take very seriously. In our constant efforts to assess the strengths of our campus and areas in which we can improve, the feedback we receive from our students – you – is essential.
At OU, we want our students to have the best educational experience possible, and the SERU survey (Student Experience in the Research University) helps by providing vital information about activities in and out of the classroom. Your participation is critical, so I hope you will complete the SERU survey.
All responses to the SERU survey will remain confidential. Your collective input will be incredibly valuable as we build a university community that equips students for success in the classroom and well beyond.
Take the Survey: SERU

The results will be used by your instructors, advisors, college, and other administrators to enhance programs, improve student services, strengthen learning opportunities, and ensure a vibrant and supportive learning environment for all students.
This survey provides a powerful way for students to tell us about what’s working well, and where improvements can be made in classrooms, labs, and campus life.
Every graduate and undergraduate student has a voice.
We've increased communications with graduate and undergraduate students to ensure that information is readily available to students when they need it, and we are working on multiple systems improvements to increase transparency for students about their degree progress.
We increased opportunities for students to engage with each other.
We worked directly with several academic units to improve their climates, increase their efforts to engage students, and in some cases reshape the leadership of their graduate programs.
The survey will serve students in their Undergraduate years of college.
The first students will enroll in Fall 2023 and a six-year growth plan projects an enrollment of 500 students by Fall 2029.
By its sixth year, the school will graduate 200 bachelor's degree students and 60 advanced degree (master's and doctorate) students.
