April 25, 2020
To assist current students experiencing financial difficulty, the University will extend the Spring 2020 payment plan period through May 25. The 1.5% service charge normally assessed on outstanding bursar balances for the month of April will be suspended for current students. Likewise, the additional late penalty on accounts carrying a balance past the end of the semester will not be applied until after May 25.
To allow additional flexibility for enrollment in upcoming semesters, registration holds will not be placed on accounts with balances less than $1,500 (with prior term balances no more than $200). This flexibility will be extended through May 25. Registration holds will be placed on balances above the thresholds, and students that receive holds can continue to work with the Student Financial Center to utilize eligible financial aid opportunities to help address balances. Eligible students experiencing financial stress related to COVID-19 are also encouraged to apply for assistance through the CARES Act Emergency Financial Assistance Program application, available here: ou.edu/sfc/covid-19/cares-act.
Information on any potential additional adjustments to bursar policies or service charges will be communicated as appropriate in upcoming months.
Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate this complex public health crisis.
