Federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness

The federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program is intended to encourage individuals to enter and continue to work full-time in public service jobs. Under this program, borrowers may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance of their federal Direct Loans after they have made 120 qualifying payments on those loans while employed full-time by certain public service employers including the University of Oklahoma.

Student Loan Resources

Students can review their complete federal aid (loans and grants) history, review their lender information, report their in-school status, and update their address at Studentaid.govPlease follow these steps:

  • Log in with you FSA ID
  • Choose "Dashboard" within your profile
  • Choose "View Your Aid"

Entrance and Exit Counseling

Federal regulations require that Federal Direct Loan borrowers complete entrance counseling and exit counseling. Students are notified via OU email and via their One account that they need to complete counseling.
