Assistant Professor of Biology and Associate Director of the University of Oklahoma’s Laboratories of Molecular Anthropology and Microbiome Research (LMAMR). Dr. Santos investigates human and non-human evolution using molecular data from both present-day and ancient populations. A central focus of his research is the genomics of human evolutionary history, addressing questions of demography, migration, ancestry, health, and the role of infectious diseases in human adaptation. Dr. Santos also develops computational methods and pipelines for the analysis of diverse biological data. Thus, his interdisciplinary work bridges anthropology, genomics, and computational biology.
