I love my co-workers! Working at GCoE is like being at home. In addition, there are so many opportunities to grow professionally. There is never a shortage of things to learn!
It is important to me to serve as a Staff Senator because OU has given me so many opportunities that I am grateful for. I want to give back to the community that has welcomed me.
Outside of work, I enjoy being with my dog, Buddy Holly, volunteering as a Co-Lead of the Midwest Region of Advocacy for the National Psoriasis Foundation, volunteering for various projects with Global Healthy Living Foundation, regarding psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and being with my family.
I have a twelve year old bichon frise, Buddy Holly. I adopted him from the Purcell animal shelter in January 2024. He was a breeding dog that had become too old. His previous "owner" left him at the shelter before the holidays of Winter 2023. I adopted him in January 2024. Now, he lives the best life I can provide! He has toys, his favorite foods on demand, and unlimited amount of love from my family and me. He is truly the best thing that has ever happened. He brings so much joy and laughter. I am truly blessed to have him in my life.
I believe that OU can become a more cohesive campus by more striving for more interaction between the three campuses - Norman, OUHSC, and Tulsa. I also think there is room for improvement for the employee evaluation program, and I would also like to work to expand our employee health and wellness options.
My favorite spots on all three campuses are: 1. The quad area behind the Carson Building in Norman and the open area that is in front of Walker and Couch on Asp. 2. Stonewall Avenue in front of the Robert Bird Library on the HSC Campus. 3. Stuart Square on the Tulsa Campus.
