Why Submit?

As the role of the architect and the design professions become less defined in the American cultural landscape, the definition of what serves as "architecture" changes, also. In this environment of flux, the expression of ideas, old or new, and the exploration of alternatives, ancient or progressive, must be our primary focus as future leaders in our fields. This journal is committed to providing an open forum for the expression of our diverse and divergent thoughts and ideas, to showcasing the best and most promising projects, and to questioning any normative forces we encounter in our quest for excellence. Architype is the voice of the students of the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture, and all the schools contained therein.

For this medium to be an effective means of expression and communication, we need your participation. Architects, interior designers, landscape architects, construction science majors, urban planners, grad students, first year students, men, women: every one of you are vital to Architype's success.

Journal Submissions

We are looking for excellent work to display in the upcoming issue of Architype.

  • projects
  • scholarly essays
  • professional quality work of all kinds, from all College of Architecture fields.

Submissions should be put in the P: drive in the computer lab.
If you have any questions about how to do this, please read this (.doc file).

All journal submissions must include your name and year along with a detailed explanation of the submission. If you are submitting graphic boards, we prefer unflattened .psd files.

No submission is guaranteed a spot in Architype. Only the best will make it, so be professional! Inclusion is an honor, not a right.
