Five Councils, One Greek Community

The Oklahoma fraternity and sorority community is a vibrant collective filled with students, philanthropists, mentors, peer educators, engaged citizens, and much more. There's no one way to Go Greek, but there are several founding principles that bring our community together.

Scholarship

Our Greek members are students first, making up about 30% of the OU undergraduate population and a wide variety of academic fields of study. Greek students often have a higher grade point average and higher graduation rates than their peers. Many chapters have GPA requirements, academic mentors, and study groups.

Service & Philanthropy

Life-long service and philanthropy giving is a core principle of fraternity and sorority life. Many of our organizations have both national and local partnerships with nonprofits and charitable organizations. Students looking to give back to their communities can find service opportunities through their Greek membership.

Siblinghood

Students looking to find community in brotherhood or sisterhood often find that connection in their fraternity or sorority. Greek organizations can help to make a larger campus feel a bit smaller and more like home. Joining a chapter can help expand a student's network on and off campus, including alumni connections.

Safety & Harm Prevention

Safety, risk management, and harm prevention is an expectation of our campus fraternities and sororities. Our community is committed to providing a safe, meaningful, and transformative membership experience to every fraternity or sorority member on campus.

Leadership Development

The Oklahoma Greek experience is often a pivotal leadership and personal development opportunity for students. With a wide variety of leadership roles and educational opportunities, students can expect to grow and develop through their Greek membership.

Community Care & Belonging

At it's core, the fraternity and sorority experience is about connection, belonging, and community care. Students often share that they made true, lasting friendships and their college experience would not have been the same without their Greek membership.
