Banked Hours

Full-time undergraduate students enrolled in fewer than 15 credit hours in prior semesters may have banked hours that can reduce summer tuition and mandatory hourly fees. Banked hours are applied automatically; students should contact the Student Financial Center (sfc@ou.edu) to confirm eligibility.

  • Students must be classified as undergraduates during the summer semester.
  • Banked hours do not cover Academic Excellence Fees, College Program and Technology Fees, Mandatory Semester Fees, and Course Specific Fees.
  • Only courses offered on the Norman-Campus summer term will be covered.
  • Courses covered include on-campus, online, and OU summer study abroad.
  • Enrolled hours exceeding the number of hours banked will be the financial responsibility of the student.
  • Unused bank hours do not transfer over to the next academic year.

Summer Aid

Students may be eligible for Pell Grant, Teach Grant, Oklahoma's Promise, or Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans for summer courses if they were previously eligible during the fall and spring semesters.
