In Fall 2020, MCAT Assist was founded by SCM Medical Student, James Cox. His personal experience with the MCAT as a pre-medical student motivated him to start a program that would ensure future pre-medical students would not be hindered in their MCAT preparation by limited resources and a lack of mentorship. In 2022, medical student Ian Kargl joined the leadership team of MCAT Assist. With the generous help of SCM students and staff, the program has helped numerous pre-medical students along their journey to becoming a physician and is regularly working to further the reach of the program.
