Wellness Week 2022

Wellness Week at OU-Tulsa provides opportunities for faculty, staff and students to engage in activities that focus on all forms of wellness. Here are some Tulsa specific events you won’t want to miss. 

Earn a free OU-Tulsa T-Shirt!

Take a selfie at any of our Wellness Week events, tag OU-Tulsa and use the hashtag #OUWellnessWeek22 on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook and get a free OU-Tulsa t-shirt (while supplies last). 

To claim your shirt: Come to the President’s hall on the 3rd floor of the Admin building Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday between 11 and 1 with proof of your post.



Emergency Preparedness and Safety Awareness

10 – 10:30 a.m. / Virtual / RSVP

Capt. Dalton Jackson from the OUHSC Police Department will help ease anxiety and build your confidence when it comes to being prepared for emergency situations. He will cover topics such as tornado safety, flooding, fire safety, active shooter, the emergency communication system, go bags, and much more.

Chair Massages

12 – 3 p.m./1E03

We will have two massage therapists from Praxis to provide 5 – 10-minute chair massages to help you loosen up and relax as you get your week started. These will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Professor Paws and Pals Meet and Greet 

12 – 1 p.m./Founders Student Center

Join Professor Paws aka Niko and his therapy dog friends including Albus the Doodledore as well as therapy dogs from Comfort Canines of Tulsa. Stop by for some puppy love and great selfie opps. 


Talk Saves Lives: Suicide Prevention Training
11 a.m. – 12 p.m. / Zoom / RSVP

Presented by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) Office of Suicide Prevention. Talk Saves Lives is a training that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide. Attendees will learn the risk and warning signs of suicide, and how together, we can help prevent it.

Health & Wellness Fair by Staff Senate

11 a.m. / Founders Hall

Open to all students, staff and faculty, this gathering will focus on all the things that influence the way we feel. There will be vendors, indoor games, a comedy show, food truck selling food, and free popcorn. 

Happiness Reconnect: Meditation & Breathwork

12-12:30 p.m. / virtual / RSVP

Thirty minutes of guided meditation and breathwork led by Pooja Shrivastava, Ph.D. and Dinesh Nath, Ph.D.

Yoga on the Lawn
12:15 – 12:45 p.m./Stuart Square/ RSVP HERE 
Bring your own mat or towel and join Yoga Instructor Megan Spears for a beginning yoga class. Join her for a relaxing flow that will have you finding your zen. 

It’s Your Money (Budgeting)
11 – 11:30 a.m. / virtual / RSVP

Join Cami Sheaffer to learn the importance of money management. Budgeting doesn’t have to be difficult or stressful! She will go over different ways to budget and tips to stay within budget each month.

Motivating Others to Be Their Best
12-1 p.m. / virtual / RSVP

Keeping your team (and yourself) motivated is the only way to deliver the full potential of your goals. But sometimes knowing how to motivate people can be tough. This course will help you develop motivational skills to inspire your team and drive results.

Plant & Paint

12-1 p.m. / Founders Hall / Student RSVP / Employee RSVP

Students, faculty and staff are invited to plant their very own succulent and paint the planter. We’ll also enjoy a light lunch. Stop by for some plant-based therapy and unwind.

Athleisure Day
All day 
Wear your favorite work-appropriate athleisure wear so you are ready for yoga on the lawn. (Supervisor approval required.) 

Student Loan Repayment Strategies

For many employees, especially in the first half of their careers, student loan payments are a significant monthly expense. This class helps attendees consider repayment options that meet their individual goals. We discuss repayment options for both federal and private loans, which include how to lower monthly payments or pay off loans faster.
