What is the Bachelor of Arts in Art?
The Bachelor of Arts in Art is OU’s most comprehensive art degree. Every art major is initially admitted to the Bachelor of Arts in Art (BA in Art) degree program. After completing their first year in the OU School of Visual Arts, students can then apply to enter a specialized Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During their first year in the BA program, every student will take the same four core classes. BA in Art majors will continue to take other art classes of their choosing, allowing them to pick a specialization or give themselves a broad, diversified background in art. The Bachelor of Arts in Art also allows for a secondary emphasis outside of the School of Visual Arts, giving students the option to earn a minor or a dual degree.
