Whether you are a lifelong fan or new to the OU Family, you'll get swept away by OU Athletics.
OU owns one of the greatest winning traditions in intercollegiate athletics, and these events are an opportunity to connect with your classmates and community while making memories that will last a lifetime. OU has champions in a variety of sports. Men's gymnastics leads all OU teams with 12 national championships and is followed by softball (8), football (7), wrestling (7), women's gymnastics (8), baseball (2) and men's golf (2). Events for each sport are free for students apart from football and men's basketball.
On Saturdays in the fall, Sooner football games are part of the OU student experience. During home games, over 68,000 people from across the country come together in a wave of crimson and cream to watch OU's football team in the Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, which is not only one of America's most recognized college football cathedrals but also the largest sports venue in Oklahoma and ranks among the 20 largest college football stadiums in the nation.
At OU, our undisputed excellence in athletics binds us together — connecting students, alumni, faculty, staff, and fans across the generations. Our entrance into the SEC will elevate OU Athletics to greater national prominence, shining a brighter spotlight on Sooner Magic to more people than ever.
In the SEC, our student-athletes will face the very best on the finest stages in collegiate athletics, enhancing the value of our global brand and reputation. I have always been an OU football fan. I've attended OU football games with my family since I was two. Even as a student, my family comes to every single game. OU is more than just football though, it's a prestigious and rigorous academic institution where I can challenge myself and seize opportunities. OU was perfect for me, because I can research during the week and cheer on the Sooners on the weekend.

I chose OU because I wanted to two things: exciting football and Greek Life! Growing up, my dad was a Sooner, so the love for OU football was passed down to me! In my academic college, I also have the unique opportunity to work closely with many of OU's athletes and the athletic department.

One of my favorite parts of being an OU student is attending football and basketball games. They are always fun because it's your chance to hang out with your friends and classmates at the games. The best sporting event is the OU-Texas River Shootout. The ticket to the game also gets you into the Texas State Fair, meaning you get to spend an entire Saturday with your friends eating fair food, dressing up in crimson and cream, and watching OU win.
