Welcome to Cleveland Area Rapid Transit:

Serving Norman, Oklahoma, since 1980

Cleveland Area Rapid Transit (CART) transports more than 1 million passengers annually on the fixed-route bus system. CART buses run six Norman city routes and three University of Oklahoma campus routes on weekdays and most Saturdays. CART also operates a commuter route, the Sooner Express, to Oklahoma City Monday through Friday.

CART also operates a paratransit service, CARTaccess, for the elderly, disabled, and those unable to ride the fixed-route bus system.

CART provides Lexington/Purcell weekend shuttle

CART begins shuttle service between Lexington and Purcell this weekend, and every weekend until the bridge between the two communities is repaired. CART joins Delta Public Transit, KI BOIS Area Transit and Red River Transportation in offering the shuttle service. The service is free to the public. Click here for a complete schedule.

Dump the Pump 2014

Dump the Pump sponsors sought

CART is gearing for Dump the Pump 2014 on June 19. Dump the Pump celebrates the benefits of public transportation. CART will offer free fare on all rides except the Sooner Express to Oklahoma City. And free T-shirts will be available beginning at 8 a.m. at Brooks Street Transfer Station.

If you have never ridden the bus, June 19 is a good day to start. And if you'd like to join CART as a sponsor for Dump the Pump, click here. Sponsors will be featured on the T-shirts and on ads promoting the event.

Bus advertising is one of the most affordable and effective advertising tools for local businesses and university departments. CART's buses are seen on campus, across Norman (east side and west side), into Moore and down I-35 to Oklahoma City four times a day. Fare increase takes effect

CART's first fare increase in 20 years went into effect on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. The changes are detailed at left. Proceeds will help support CART's fixed-route and paratransit services. OU contributes funding to CART to subsidize fares for faculty, staff and students.

Construction forces Sooner Express route change

Robinson Street between Park Avenue and Robert S. Kerr Avenue will be closed for up to a year because of construction in downtown Oklahoma City. The Sooner Express (N24) will be forced to deviate from its regular route. Click here to learn details of the deviation.
