Macromolecular Crystallography Laboratory

Biomolecular Structure Core-Norman

The Biomolecular Structure Core-Norman (BSC-Norman)  is part of the NIH sponsored Oklahoma Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) in Structural Biology (OCSB) located in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma - Norman Research Campus. The lab provides the necessary resources for structure determination of macromolecules (proteins and nucleic acids). Services include conducting initial crystallization trials to single crystal x-ray diffraction data collection and structure determintation of macromolecular molecules.   We also provide services for Cryo-EM Single Particle Analysis and Liposome/Nano Particle characterization.  Services for Cryo-EM include cryo grid preparation, screening of grids, and data collection. We provide support and guidance on both Crystallographic and Cryo-EM techniques for structure determination to internal and external research groups.

The BSC-Norman is supported by a combination of funding from the National Science Foundation, NIH-CoBRE through the Oklahoma Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) in Structural Biology (OCSB), Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, OU-Norman, and user fees.

Defrayal of user fees is available through the OCSB. In order for your project to be considered for fee deferral, please download and submit the form below.
