Congratulations on having earned a degree through the University of Oklahoma’s Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences! We hope the Convocation ceremony will be a special occasion for you, your family and friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doors will open for guests at 6 P.M. 

Candidates should arrive at 6 P.M. and head down to the floor to find a seat. Graduate students are the only students who will have designated seating; their seating will be in the front marked by signage.

Neither tickets nor reservations are needed for Convocation. There is no limit on the number of guests.

The ceremony will be livestreamed. You can find the link for the livestream here.

ADA seating at the Lloyd Noble Center is available on a first-come, first-served basis. ADA guests are encouraged to enter LNC through the southeast entrance. We have a team of college staff members who will be able to direct guests with any special needs. To request accommodations for graduates or their family members please contact dfcassuccess@ou.edu.

The ceremony should last approximatley 60-75 minutes. 

Given the large number of graduates we recognize at Convocation, we do not offer a rehearsal for students. Detailed instructions will be sent to graduates closer to the date of the ceremony.

For a free copy of the official OU Commencement program which will include all 2023-24 graduates, send your mailing information and the number of copies (limit 5) you would like receive to commencement@ou.edu. This program will be produced after the spring semester convocation. 

No, the DFCAS does not hood any graduate students during convocation. It is recommended that PhD students attend spring commencement if they wish to take part in a hooding ceremony. You may also want to reach out to your department to see if they are doing anything special for graduate students.

If you have applied for graduation, but are not enrolled in the Canvas course for graduates, please email graduateOU@ou.edu for assistance. 

You will find a name card on your seat when you arrive to Lloyd Noble Center. On this card, you can phonetically spell out your name. This should help the name caller pronounce your name correctly.
