Avina Khiatani

Dr. Avina Khiatani is a licensed psychologist, currently practicing at the University of Oklahoma Counseling Center in Norman, Oklahoma. She received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Rosemead School of Psychology in Southern California. Her training prepared her primarily for counseling and assessment work with children and adolescents, families and adults with various backgrounds and mental health needs; she has had experience working within community mental health, universities, and intensive outpatient settings. Dr. Khiatani’s research interests focus on cultural values and identity formation, specifically how it interacts with social relationships. She enjoys being able to integrate her research and her passion for helping others in her counseling work with college students. Dr. Khiatani also has a Border Collie mix, and a Tortoiseshell cat with whom she likes to practice behavioral psychology principles
