Patty Bartell stepped down this fall as president of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education Board of Advocates after more than six years of service in the role. A graduate of JRCoE with a master’s degree, Bartell and her family have been longtime supporters of the college. She and her late husband, Larry, were part of the creation of the Debt-Free Teachers program and supported the remodel of Collings Hall. They are also Bellwether Society members.

Patty Bartell has skillfully and gracefully guided the JRCoE Board of Advocates for the past six years through a time of significant change and disruption due to the pandemic,” said Stacy Reeder, dean of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education. “The college and the Board of Advocates greatly appreciates her tremendous service and leadership as president of the board and looks forward to working with her on the board for many years to come.”

Bartel has four adult children:  James Denny, Ashley Ann, Heather Leigh and David Howard; James, Ashley and David are all OU graduates.
