Admission Evaluation Criteria
65% Academic Rigor: A student’s academic preparation and performance measures such as high school GPA, class rank, ACT/SAT test score and course rigor.
25% Engagement: A student’s interest in OU, community involvement, leadership and extra-curricular activities, work experience and exceptional talents.
10% Essay: A student’s writing and self-expression, measured through the essay portion of the admissions application.
Students at OU graduate with an average high school GPA of 3.6. On average, they have an ACT score of 26 and an SAT score of 1180 and 70% of our students graduated in the top 25% of their class. There is more, however, to our students than just these numbers. Our students are diverse, well-rounded and understand the importance of giving back. They have learned life lessons and want to contribute. They are talented, spirited and ask the tough questions. More than anything, they want to engage in a vibrant academic community, which is exactly what you will find here.
