It used to be said, “Wherever there is oil, you will find an OU graduate.” This statement still rings true today. MPGE graduates are sought by industry recruiters and command top salaries for their skill and expertise. A number of graduates from our programs have gone on to become CEO’s of major oil and gas companies, and seven MPGE alumni have served as president of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

The mission of the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering is to provide our students with educational experiences which allow them the opportunity to develop technical competence and intellectual perspective to function effectively in and continue professional growth during their careers.
